چکیده

A Monte Carlo simulation of the Ising Model, a simplified model for studying the behavior of magnetic materials at various temperatures, was constructed. This model illustrated the transition between magnetic and non-magnetic phases as temperature is increased, and showed critical-point behavior at the transition. A general system for studying the behavior of many different configurations of particles was built, and was tested using a two-dimensional lattice and a binary tree arrangement, each giving different results.

Magnetic Properties and Phase Transitions in a Spin-1 Random Transverse Ising Model on Simple Cubic Lattice

Within the effective-field theory with correlations (EFT), a transverse random field spin-1 Ising model on the simple cubic (z=6) lattice is studied. The phase diagrams, the behavior of critical points, transverse magnetization,  internal energy, magnetic specific heat are obtained numerically and discussed for different values of p the concentration of the random transverse field.

Random and aperiodic quantum spin chains: A comparative study

According to the Harris-Luck criterion the relevance of a fluctuating interaction at the critical point is connected to the value of the fluctuation exponent ω. Here we consider different types of relevant fluctuations in the quantum Ising chain and investigate the universality class of random as well as deterministic-aperiodic models. At the critical point the random and aperiodic systems beha...

Critical Phenomena: Landau Theory and the Renormalization Group Method

We first discuss a phenomenological mean-field theory of phase transitions due to Landau and introduce the ideas of universality and scaling near critical points. The breakdown of mean-field theory near a critical point leads us to introduce the renormalization group method, which has had a major impact on our understanding of phase transitions, quantum field theory, and turbulence. We introduc...

Kink Confinement and Supersymmetry

We analyze non-integrable deformations of two-dimensional N = 1 supersymmetric quantum field theories with kink excitations. As example, we consider the multifrequency Super Sine Gordon model. At weak coupling, this model is robust with respect to kink confinement phenomena, in contrast to the purely bosonic case. If we vary the coupling, the model presents a sequence of phase transitions, wher...

Exact Solution of the Ising Model on the Square Lattice with Free Boundary Conditions

The square-lattice Ising model is the simplest system showing phase transitions (the transition between the paramagnetic phase and the ferromagnetic phase and the transition between the paramagnetic phase and the antiferromagnetic phase) and critical phenomena at finite temperatures. The exact solution of the squarelattice Ising model with free boundary conditions is not known for systems of ar...
